The Crimson Autonomous Racing (CAR) team from the University of Alabama is currently collaborating with the PoliMOVE-MSU team.
This competition can be very helpful to focus research group capabilities in the development of a complex problem in the class of autonomous-vehicle design. It can boost research and know-how in the autonomous-car big challenge.
The Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) represents a unique and arguably historic opportunity for Michigan State University (MSU) and other academic institutions to advance autonomous system research in unprecedented ways. The impact of IAC could be far reaching many years or even decades beyond the anticipated initial years, 2020 – 2021, of the competition.
Offering
Long-lasting and very broad experience in the design of algorithms for variable-estimation, positioning, and control in the field of vehicle-dynamics control (traditional human-driven; semi-autonomous; autonomous).
Perception, 2D/3D detection, and multi-modal sensor fusion.
Needs
Our team has full-capabilities to address the challenge alone, but support from other teams specialized on sub-tasks of the challenge is welcome.
Although the CANVAS program at MSU has expertise in virtually all facets of autonomous vehicle technologies, we are open to a collaborative effort that could complement our strengths in the perception area.
